argos catalogue

In this project, the task was to improve the way that digital cameras are explained and displayed in the Argos* catalogue. It simulated a consultancy project as well as a design project and, therefore, all proposed changes needed to be carefully argued for.

The design process involved an extensive research about digital cameras, Argos consumers’ profiles and competitors, and an evaluation of how well the current catalogue supports user decisions in a context where no salespeople or actual products are part of the buying process.

Through a new page layout and grid system – favouring consistent display of information and clear hierarchy – the redesigned version tried to balance the needs of different users, offering means for easier product comparison and navigation across varied and complex content.

* Argos is the largest UK retailer of consumer electronics.
